Peer Review Process

Bhinneka Journal of Multidisciplinary Knowledge (BJMK) implements a rigorous and transparent peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, and academic integrity of all published manuscripts. All submitted articles undergo a double-blind peer review, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential throughout the evaluation process.

Upon submission through the Online Journal System (OJS), each manuscript is first evaluated by the editorial team through an initial screening (desk review). At this stage, the manuscript is assessed for its relevance to the journal’s focus and scope, its originality and novelty, adherence to the author guidelines, and compliance with ethical standards. The manuscript is also subjected to a plagiarism screening to ensure that the similarity index does not exceed the acceptable threshold. Manuscripts that do not meet these requirements may be rejected without being sent for external review.

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are then assigned to at least two independent reviewers who have relevant expertise in the subject area. The review process is conducted objectively and focuses on several key aspects, including the originality and contribution of the study, the appropriateness and rigor of the methodology, the clarity and coherence of the analysis, the relevance to multidisciplinary perspectives, and the overall quality of writing.

Based on the reviewers’ evaluations and recommendations, the editorial team will make one of the following decisions: acceptance without revision, acceptance with minor revisions, major revisions, or rejection. Authors will receive detailed and constructive feedback from the reviewers to assist them in improving their manuscripts.

If revisions are required, authors are expected to revise their manuscripts accordingly and submit a revised version along with a clear response to reviewers’ comments. In some cases, the revised manuscript may be returned to the reviewers for further evaluation to ensure that all concerns have been adequately addressed.

The final decision regarding publication is made by the Editor-in-Chief, taking into account the reviewers’ recommendations, the quality of the revisions, and the overall contribution of the manuscript to the field.

Accepted manuscripts proceed to the copyediting and proofreading stage to ensure clarity, consistency, and adherence to the journal’s formatting standards. Authors are given the opportunity to review and approve the final version before publication.

BJMK is committed to maintaining high ethical standards in the peer review process by ensuring confidentiality, objectivity, and the absence of conflicts of interest. This process aims to uphold the credibility and scholarly quality of the journal while fostering constructive academic dialogue.
